Nov 13 2011 The Widow at the Place de Vosges.Category: General     12:07PM   1

A little over one month ago while working in Miami, I was contacted by a lady from Washington DC who requested that I meet her in Paris, France where she had once resided with her late husband. She introduced herself to me as the ‘La Veuve Fornier’ translated (The Widow Fornier) which I thought was a lovingly, yet bittersweet way to describe herself. She further stated in our very first telephone conversation and I quote her statement: “Msr.Vincent, I am neither a pretty nor shapely woman but I still believe that I can stimulate desire in a man who views beauty with unique insight and passions..such as I believe you to be capable of doing”. That sensual, erotic statement alone (sight unseen of the Madame) motivated me to fly to Paris two days later for our rendezvous. I arrived at Orly via Korean Air and proceeded to make my way to the Place de Vosges, (where she had rented an apartment for us) via the Paris Metro Station-Le Bastille. She had arrived one-day previous and had moved into the apartment to await my arrival. I located the apartment in the incredibly beautiful Place de Vosges complex between the 3rd and 4th Arrondissment and knocked lightly upon the door. She answered immediately and I was greeted by a full-figured, buxom woman with soulful eyes, a sweet, yet pleading smile attired in a form-fitting dark gray silk sheath dress, two-tone gray/black heels and a double string of beautiful Mikimoto pearls. She welcomed me warmly with a firm hug and a gentle but very full kiss upon the lips. The purpose of her trip to Paris was to revisit places that she and her late husband enjoyed while living in France years ago. For the next week we indulged ourselves and lived as ‘Parisians’ by shopping each day for baguettes, fresh cheese, fruit, pastries and wines at local shops, etc. We toured the famous Louvre, attended a wonderful Debussy concert and went for long walks along the Seine. The wonderfully romantic days passed far too quickly and as we boarded our respective flights back to the USA I kept hearing over and over in my mind her original statement to me in our first telephone conversation. “ Msr.Vincent, I am neither a pretty nor shapely woman but I still believe that I can stimulate desire in a man who views beauty with unique insights and passions, such as I believe you to be capable of doing”. Every word she spoke was pure and perfect truth, she added new dimension for yours truly to the words ‘stimulate desire’ ….Merci Madame.
